worshipsmallIt's time to get back into the swing of things for the upcoming semester.  We'll be back to 2 services (9:30am and 11:15am) this Sunday 1/19 and will be starting up Midweek small groups on Wednesday, January 26th (6pm).  Both Sunday Sermons and Midweek groups will be based around the study of the Gospel of Luke.  Midweek groups will be studying the text and discussing it before it is preached on in the Sunday sermon.  This will be a great opportunity to explore the person of Jesus - who He is and how we follow Him.  If you'd like to sign up for a group or have questions, contact Dan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Volunteers are needed for both evening (8-11pm) and morning (7-9am) shifts.  Tasks include set-up, break-down and food prep. They are also looking for folks who can take some laundry with them to clean and return to the shelter.

The Season of Advent PDF Print E-mail

adventThis Sunday, December 12th is the observance of the third Sunday of Advent.  Advent is a time when the church prepares herself for the "coming" (that's what advent means) of the Christ child at Christmas.  It's a time of introspection and confession and ever-increasing hope.  We'll be using an Advent wreath which contains four candles, each representing the four Sundays leading up to Christmas.  We hope you will join us for this opportunity to slow down during the busyness of the holidays and consider the world changing event of the birth of Jesus.

freerideskurtA big thank you goes out to over 125 volunteers that made Free Rides happen last weekend.  Not to mention businesses who helped pay (Bueno and Vercruzana) and people who let us borrow vans for the weekend.  We helped over 1600 people get to their destinations safely.  Well done.

bapsmall.jpgWe will be celebrating some of the new life that Christ is accomplishing in our church. Two people will be getting baptized as a way to profess their faith this Sunday, September 5th at 5pm. You'll hear their stories of how they came to faith and see them get baptized. It's a really meaningful time and a great way to support people on their journey with Jesus.

Directions:

From downtown Amherst: Take North Pleasant Street heading east and instead of bearing left toward the umass campus and past our building, stay straight on the street that becomes East Pleasant. Follow that street until it comes to a T and take a quick left onto Pine St. and then a quick right onto Sand Hill Road. Take the second right (State St.) and you should immediately see the pond on your left. You'll see a small parking area and cars parked up and down the street. Park on the street and walk past the parking area to the beach. Get lost? Call 413-374-7532.
