Servant Leaders Wanted! PDF Print E-mail

We are continuing to search for people who are willing to lead a couple of our servant teams - Audio Visual and Hospitality. The AV team makes sure that sound and slides work well on Sunday mornings so songs and sermon can be entered into with understanding and without distraction.  This is an incredibly important way to serve those who are coming on Sunday mornings.  We also need someone to coordinate those that serve in our hosptality team that also provides an important function on Sunday mornings.  This team puts out the food and drink each week which creates an environment where people can easily talk and get to know one another.  If you're interested in doing one of these or want to find out more, please contact Lois at contact(at)knowmercy.org.

freeridesshiftThat chill in the air should be a reminder that Free Rides is upon us. What's Free Rides you ask? It's our biggest outreach of the year. Over 100 volunteers give rides to over 1000 riders on the Friday and Saturday nights closest to Halloween. This year, that's October 28th and 29th from 10pm to 3am. It's a great way to engage 100's of people in the name of Jesus and keep a lot of students safe who would otherwise be in harm's way.

Each night is broken up into 2 shifts. See below for some of the opportunities to serve:

Driver

Drives the van. Must be 21 and have a good driving record.

Navigator

Rides shotgun and takes calls from dispatch (at MH) about pick-ups and drop-offs.

Host

Sits in the back of the van with passengers. Helps them in and out of the van and engages in conversation.

Dispatcher

Calls out to vans from MERCYhouse and gives information about pick-ups and drop-offs.

Forward this to a few friends and click the registration button to sign-up for a shift.
